Jyväskylä's city strategy is currently being updated with the aim of being discussed by the City Council in its meeting in February. Culture will be reflected as part of the strategy. At a more detailed level, the measures will be set out in the cultural plan. Citizens now have the opportunity to comment on the draft phase of the cultural plan through an online survey.

Supplementary application round for the English speaking teaching groups in Kortepohja School has started

The supplementary application for English speaking teaching groups in grades 2–6 of Jyväskylä basic education for the academic year 2022–2023 will be carried out in the Wilma system between 10 and 21 January 2022.

Pupils currently in grades 1-5 in general education can apply for English speaking teaching groups.

In March the children of the Kangasvuori daycare school participated in planning their own neighbourhood. They had been given the task of brainstorming the surroundings of Pupumuori, a large concrete statue, for example by writing, drawing, illustrating or even making scale models. The outputs will be utilized in the actual park planning.

The children became acquainted with the planning of the park in their own daily lives.

Income limits in early childhood education and care will be raised as of 1st of August 2021, client fees applying to many children are to be reduced

Adjustments to income limits laid down by the Act on Client Fees in Early Childhood Education and Care will enter into force on as of 1st of August 2021. At the meeting on the 28th of April 2021, the Education Committee of the City of Jyväskylä made a decision on the adjusted client fees based on this Act.

The income limits on which the client fees are based will be raised by 31%.

Jyväskylä gives an extensive mask recommendation to its residents over the age of 15 for two weeks - masks must always be worn in all indoor public places as well as at public events.
