Jyväskylä Sinfonia and the vocal ensemble Rajaton bring two evenings filled with the sparkle of disco’s golden era to the Paviljonki on Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23 at 18. The concerts feature unforgettable Bee Gees hits in new orchestral arrangements, where the rich sound of a symphony orchestra meets Rajaton’s dazzling vocal harmonies.

The Australian sibling trio Bee Gees defined the pulse of the 1970s in a way that still resonates in pop music today. Their melodic talent, infectious rhythms, and distinctive falsetto vocals produced songs that have become the shared soundtrack of generations.

The concerts feature classics such as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, and Tragedy, now presented on a symphonic scale with fresh new colors. The program also includes major hits the Bee Gees wrote for other artists, such as Barbra Streisand’s Woman in Love, Dionne Warwick’s Heartbreaker, and the title track from Grease, showcasing the remarkable breadth of the Gibb brothers’ songwriting.

Rajaton’s lineup includes sopranos Essi Wuorela and Aili Ikonen, alto Soila Sariola, tenor Antti Annola, baritone Ahti Paunu, and bass Jussi Chydenius. The a cappella ensemble is known for its inventive repertoire and technical brilliance, and is in high demand internationally. Rajaton has performed in over 50 countries across five continents, appearing in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls, from Carnegie Hall in New York to the Sydney Opera House. Over the years, the group has released a total of nineteen albums, earning one double platinum, two platinum, and nine gold records in Finland.

The concerts will be conducted by Eero Lehtimäki, who has previously collaborated with Rajaton on several productions.
