Jyväskylä Sinfonia’s chamber music series Hetkiä ja helmiä continues on Wednesday 29.4. at Valtiontalo’s Kulttuurisuoja. In the concert starting at 18, the stage will be taken by the orchestra’s cello quartet, featuring Ilkka Kauppi, Annika Valkeajoki, Otto-Aaron Takala, and Marta Podwysocka.

The concert highlights the rich expressive range of the cello, bringing together works from the Romantic era to contemporary music, as well as well-known arrangements from the classical repertoire.

Soprano Emma Kajander has had to cancel her appearance in Jyväskylä Sinfonia’s Messiah concert on April 16 due to illness. The soprano soloist for the concert will be Kaisa Ranta, who received critical acclaim for her leading role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Jyväskylä Opera earlier this year.

Jyväskylä Sinfonia and the vocal ensemble Rajaton bring two evenings filled with the sparkle of disco’s golden era to the Paviljonki on Wednesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 23 at 18. The concerts feature unforgettable Bee Gees hits in new orchestral arrangements, where the rich sound of a symphony orchestra meets Rajaton’s dazzling vocal harmonies.
